Plans for new travel mart
The Ministry of Tourism is planning to hold
a Bali and Beyond Travel Mart in Bali in July 2014 to help
Indonesia achieve its targeted 9.2 million foreign tourists in 2014. The
travel mart is being placed in Bali because of the island's role as
the gateway of Indonesian tourism. Bali serves as the port of entry for
many visitors before venturing on to other locales across the
archipelago.

The
annual Mount Hagen Cultural Festival takes place in August and TNT has
designed a tour around the festival. Visitors go behind the scenes at the
festival, visit clan members as they don treasured shells, feathers and
textiles and apply clays and paints to their faces. They can also
accept the officials' invitation to enter the sing-sing group, walk
amongst the gathered tribes and follow the sounds of Kundu drums, chants
and laughter.
Comprehensive
11- to 13-day itineraries include the festival and Papua New Guinea's
iconic places: the fascinating highlands and the mysterious Sepik River
lowlands. Traditional villages, legends, Huli Wigmen, Spirit Houses,
remote airstrips, boats, rivers, tribal art, knowledgeable guides and
Birds of Paradise are all part of the experience. Accommodation is
in Papua New Guinea's top wilderness lodges. Guests of TNT benefit from
their decades of in-country experience and close connections with the
Mount Hagen Cultural Festival. All accommodation, tours, meals and transfers
are included. The groups are small and space is limited so
encourage your clients to book now.
TNT has announced that construction of their newest Lake
Murray Lodge is almost complete and they will soon be
accepting bookings. Nestled amongst the trees on Boboa Island,
the lodge has 12 rooms with twin/double beds and a large verandah
overlooking the lake. The main lodge, with a wrap-around verandah
and water views on three sides will house a dining room, bar, lounge and
